Doug Pearson

I was born and raised in Nevada, I graduated from Earl Wooster High School and went immediately into the Marine Corps. I came back to Nevada 10 years later with my wife and four children, we have increased in number since and now we are a family of eight.

I converted to Catholicism in 2000 (the Jubilee year). I was formerly of the Church of Doug (COD) where I had the great honor of being my own pope. Being Catholic I have had to give up the job of pope and learn a measure of obedience, hey- no pain no gain.

I currently work as the janitor/station manager for Reno’s very own Catholic radio station KIHM am 920. While in the Marine Corps I was trained as a radio technician and when I exited the Marines I went to work for AT&T Wireless where I became a retail sales manager. I of course learned to push a mean broom in the Corps and have been blessed by God to be able to incorporate all of these skills (technical, sales/marketing, janitorial) in my current position at the Catholic radio station.

I am a member of Immaculate Conception parish in Sparks where I am a lector and occasionally sing in the choir-when there are enough people to drown me out. I am very blessed to live in Sparks, my family and my wife’s family live in the area and we love being close to them all. My oldest daughter is 17 and leaving home in the fall 03 to go to Ave Maria College in Naples Florida where she aspires to become a pro-life lawyer. My other children range in age from 6-15 and most of them are taller than my beautiful wife Tricia who is a living saint.

I am very excited about the CP&BG! This will give us an opportunity to come together outside of church across parish lines and really build each other up in the faith!!!
