John M. Siino, P.E.
d.b.a. Advanced Engineering Services

My company is Advanced Engineering Services, specializing in structural and foundation engineering services including designs, calculations/analyses and drawings, special inspections and reviews and engineering reports. I am experienced in industrial, commercial and residential projects. I have been self-employed since 1989.

I was born on February 10, 1959 in Pittsburg, California. I grew up in Pittsburg (a small blue collar town) where my grandfather, father and uncle owned a small construction company. I started learning the construction trade when I was 12 years old. I graduated with honors in June of 1983 from California Polytechnic (Cal Poly) State University, San Luis Obispo, California with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. My studies emphasized structural and foundation design and engineering. I am licensed both in Nevada and California.

In July of 1983, my wife Mitzi and I were wed. Mitzi is a homemaker in every sense of the word and helps me with the business book-keeping and office management. In 1986, our daughter and first child was born, changing our lives forever. In 1989, our family grew by one boy and again it grew by a boy in 1994. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family.

In September of 1999, my family moved to Northwest Reno, seeking a better environment to live and grow. Though we do miss our family and friends in the Bay Area, we are very pleased with the schools here and we are meeting many new and wonderful people here in Reno. Though the move hasn't always been easy, God has provided for us.

The move to Reno was also part of our spiritual development. Though I have always been Catholic and even attended Mass regularly, my faith was lukewarm at best and my knowledge of my faith was weak. Starting around 1997, my faith and knowledge of my faith began to grow rapidly. Since moving here we have been active in several apostolates including the teaching CCD, Cursillo, Church Finance Council and the CP&BG.
