Growing up in Eureka, California, gave me a love for
the West. So, it is not surprising I have chosen to make my home
in Reno. I was born on March 2, 1974, in San Francisco, California.
From 1979 to 1992 I lived in Eureka, finally leaving home to pursue
my Bachelor of Arts degree at Thomas
Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California.
Originally, I decided to enter law school directly after
graduation from Thomas Aquinas College in 1996. Providentially, I remained
at Thomas Aquinas College as an assistant director of admissions. I say
"providentially," since during the ensuing school year I became
engaged to my wonderful wife, Eve.
Prudently deciding I should attend law school where
our children might get to know their grandparents, I decided to
attend the University
of Kansas School of Law. While at KU, my paper "Boy
Scouts of America: Discriminating According to the Natural Law"
was published in the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. I
graduated from the Law School with a joint JD/MBA in December of
2000. In the interim, two of our children, Timothy and Brigit, were
born.
After graduation, I commenced a clerkship with the Honorable
Robert E. Estes, another Kansas alumnus, of the Third Judicial District
Court in Yerington, Nevada. In October of 2001, I discovered, to my immense
joy, that I had passed the Nevada Bar Exam.
The following April, I joined the law firm of Thorndal,
Armstrong, Delk, Balkenbush & Eisinger in Reno. In March
of 2003, we were blessed by the arrival of Maureen. My wife
and children, though they miss their friends in Yerington, have
enjoyed living in the "biggest little city in the world."
Among our favorite activities is attending Artown, held every July
in Reno.
Since joining the firm, I have participated in various legal
and community organizations. For instance, I am a member of the American
Inns of Court, pitch for a local softball team, and sing in Regina Pacis
Cantorum, a local classical choir. It is my hope that I will properly
use my talents to benefit society and to be an honor to my profession.
