Fr. Pacholczyk is currently a priest of the diocese of Fall River, Massachusetts and he writes a monthly column for The Catholic Herald called, "Making Sense Out of Bioethics." He also serves as the director of education at The National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia, whose director, John Haas, is an ordinary member of the Pontifical Academy For Life.

MICHAEL FORD
Michael Ford has a long history at the executive level in the administration of human services programs following earning his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from U.C. Berkeley. He began his career with the Washoe County (Reno) District Health Department in 1971 and was the first non physician director of that department from 1981 to 1989. He next spent 13 years as the Health Agency Director in Merced County in California until June 2003. His experience in leading such programs as maternal and child health, communicable disease control, early childhood development, correctional and indigent health services and many more, provided him with an extensive understanding of the problems and needs for human services and social services for the low income and impoverished among us. Following his retirement from public service, Mike found his way to Catholic Community Services of Northern Nevada where he was appointed Executive Director in September, 2004.Since 1941, Catholic Community Services has been offering numerous services in Washoe County and throughout Northern Nevada including a hot meal each day at the St. Vincent’s Dining Room, a helpful hand through a personal crisis in the Emergency Assistance, groceries from the St. Vincent’s Food Pantry, quality child care for working parents at Holy Child Day Home, unique items at bargain prices at the St. Vincent’s Thrift Shops, affordable low income housing at St. Vincent’s Residence, the gift of love through the Adoption program and a warm welcome to newcomers in the Immigration Assistance Program. Mike will share some of the realities of delivering services to the less fortunate—the daily challenge of providing services upon which some depend for basic survival, and the rewards of connecting people with food, shelter, and the healing power of hope.

NORMA McCORVEY
Ms. Norma L. McCorvey was born September 22, 1947, in Simmesport, Louisiana. In 1969, at the age of twenty-two, Norma was introduced to two lawyers from Texas, Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee; both were looking to overturn the Texas statute which outlawed abortion. They approached a pregnant Norma McCorvey. As a result, Norma signed on the dotted line making her the plaintiff in an abortion suit against the State of Texas.
This case would later evolve into the infamous Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion in this country. After over 28 years of guilt induced drug binges and various jobs in abortion clinics in an attempt to justify her involvement in the legalization of abortion, Norma McCorvey did the unthinkable. As the former “poster-girl” for abortion who, in the words of a friend, “jumped off of the poster and into the arms of Christ,” Norma truly began to live her life for herself. Norma has commented on her conversion, saying “after being Jane Roe and working in the reality of death at various abortion clinics, it began to eat away at my soul. God was my saving grace that literally saved my life.”
In 1995, Norma was baptized and gave her life to God. She literally moved next door from the abortion clinic at which she was working to the national offices of the prominent pro-life organization, Operation Rescue. Later, feeling a need to share her personal message, Norma founded Roe No More Ministry in 1997 with the mission of exposing the lie that is Roe v. Wade. Roe No More Ministry was founded as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization based in Dallas, Texas that focused primarily on achieving the goal of educating the nation about the truth behind Jane Roe. In January 2004, Norma renamed Roe No More Ministry to Crossing Over Ministry. Commenting on the change of name, McCorvey has said, "deciding to change the name of the organization to "Crossing Over" is an indication that my life's work is better defined not just by my past involvement in Roe v. Wade, but more generally about our constant struggle to better ourselves in Christ; that is, our constant crossing over."
Norma’s faith journey eventually led her home, as she describes it, to the Roman Catholic Church. In 1998, she was confirmed a Catholic by Fr. Edward Robinson, O.P. of St. Albert’s Priory in Dallas and Fr. Frank Pavone, the International Director of Priests for Life. While Ms. McCorvey is unapologetically Roman Catholic, she prides herself in maintaining a non-denominational ministry.
Roe No More Ministry, as Norma initially named it, and now named Crossing Over Ministry is "dedicated to spreading the truth: to know things as they are;” Norma now speaks the truth, and she has dedicated her whole life to spreading the truth as she lived it, including both her involvement in Roe v. Wade and what she saw in various abortion clinics. Since Roe No More’s inception in 1997, Miss Norma has traveled to three countries and over 40 states sharing her story with church congregations, civic organizations, university students, clergy, and rallies. Norma has appeared on various major television news shows including NBC, ABC, CBS, Larry King Live, and FOX’s Hannity and Colmes, in addition to testifying before various Congressional committees.

Past Speakers

ALEX JONES
Alex Jones was an "on-fire" Pentecostal minister in Detroit who was a completely dedicated shepherd of his flock. He greatly loved his people and they loved him. In seeking to give his flock the most genuine experience of the early Church prayer and worship services, he carefully read Scripture, the Fathers of the Church and writings of the early saints. The more he read, the more Alex came to the startling conclusion that the present day Catholic Church - and the Holy Mass - is the same exact "worship service " from the very early Church. Alex began to share his findings with his parish, and eventually Alex, and most of his parish, joined the Catholic Church. His book, No Price Too High: A Pentecostal Preacher Becomes Catholic, is his incredible story of a black Pentecostal minister's challenging and dramatic spiritual journey, and the flock that followed him. Today he preaches with his usual passion about Christ - as a Catholic deacon! The book tells the story of Alex's life from his childhood all the way to his conversion to Catholicism in 2001. It simultaneously tells the story of his wife, Donna, and her spiritual journey as well, which shows how they were not always on the same path during Alex's preparation for entering the Catholic Church. Each had to be personally, deeply convinced that this momentous, life-changing and career-changing spiritual decision was God's will for them.

TIM STAPLES
Tim Staples was raised in a Southern Baptist home in Virginia. Although he somewhat fell away from serious faith during his adolescent years, the preaching of several TV evangelists motivated Tim to give his life to Christ at the age of 18. Shortly thereafter Staples joined the Marine Corps to gain some much-needed discipline and get some help financing his college education. During his tour of duty he had the opportunity to participate in several Protestant ministries and bible studies. Before long, Tim enrolled in the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College and with an eye towards becoming an youth minister for the Assemblies of God, a Pentecostal denomination.
However, during his final year in the Marines, Tim met a fellow soldier named Matt Dula who really challenged Tim to examine the Catholic Faith from a biblical and historical perspective. Tim's friendship with Matt sparked a two-year search for the truth. Though Tim was determined to prove Catholicism wrong, he wound up studying and praying his way right into the Roman Catholic Church!
After converting to Catholicism in 1988, Staples spent six years in formation for the priesthood. Tim began his journey towards ordination by earning a degree in philosophy from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, Pennsylvania. He then went on to study graduate theology for two additional years at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
In 1994 Tim discerned through prayer and counsel that his calling was not to be a Catholic priest, but rather to be a lay Catholic apologist and evangelist. He has been hard at work ever since producing materials to help Catholics and non-Catholics alike understand the meaning and the biblical foundation of the Catholic faith. His works include Nuts and Bolts: A Practical How-To Guide for Explaining and Defending the Catholic Church, and Twisted Scripture(CD), a critique of the Protestant doctrine of "Sola Scriptura." Tim's personal conversion story can be found in written form in the book edited by Patrick Madrid entitled Surprised by Truth - 11 Stories of Conversion to the Catholic Church. Staples' journey of conversion is also available in an audio/video version under the title The Bible Made Me Do It! (VHS, Audio Tape, Compact Disk).
In hundreds of live appearances all over the country, Tim Staples has helped thousands of people find their way home to the Catholic Church. Tim makes his extensive knowledge of Scripture available in tapes, books, and talks, helping others to see the strong biblical basis under girding Catholic doctrine. Tim’s humor and infectious enthusiasm captivate his audiences, and his unique style has brought him worldwide renown. Tim currently resides in Southern California with his wife Valerie and their infant son, Tim Jr. He is currently a staff apologist for Catholic Answers in El Cajon, CA.

His secular education included a B.Sc. from M.I.T. and an M.B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard Business School. Midway through a career of teaching and consulting (he had been appointed to the faculty of the Harvard Business School) he experienced an unexpected and instantaneous conversion to Christianity which led to a dramatic refocus of his activities. Since then he has pursued theological studies at several seminaries, helped produce and host a Catholic Television talk show, and edited and written for several Catholic books and reviews. Salvation is from the Jews is his first full-length book.

doing immunology rotations at Yale, he switched to
neuroscience because he realized that field was more
likely “to deal with questions of ensoulment, of personhood,
and mind-body relations.” And then there are his four
undergraduate degrees — in molecular and cellular
biology, in chemistry, in biochemistry, and in philosophy
— all from the University of Arizona, where he graduated
